Lisa and I live in Menlo Park, a small residential community south of San Francisco. We arrived in California in 1975 where I studied at the Stanford Business School, and then we both pursued careers here, Lisa at Wells Fargo Bank and I in a series of high-tech companies. While now retired, we remain very active in local and national nonprofit activities and organizations. For example, I founded and led for a decade a national nonprofit that financially assisted the families of veterans who were severely disabled during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
We have two sons and enjoy spending time with them and their families, one lives in Barcelona, our favorite European city; the others are in Los Angeles. We are “late-blooming” grandparents who now have a small but expanding number of very young grandchildren.
Lisa and I love to travel in the US, Europe and Asia and now spend many weeks abroad each year. Lisa is an avid contemporary quilter, a board member for a local regional bank, and the chairperson for an international foundation that funds indigenous community projects. I am a Menlo Park community activist, a local journalist, photographer, guitarist, and a sous chef for my adventurous wife.
Our DU friends are invited to visit (and stay) with us whenever they travel to the San Francisco Bay Area. There are lots of things to do and we are battle-tested hosts who will ensure you enjoy it!
